Mark at the Movies:
Recently I was invited to go behind the scenes of Mark at the Movies as they celebrated their 200th episode. The show originally aired on October 1, 2009 who stared Mark S. Allen and young up and coming host Ashley Williams.
From that first episode the show has evolved into a Giant in the entertainment industry now being seen in over 38 million homes on Reelzchannel, Arm Forces Network and select CW Networks the show can be seen throughout the weekend. Through the years Mark at the Movies has won 3 Emmy's and still going strong. Back in 2010 I wrote this review of the show on www.reelz.com/show/106/mark-at-the-movies
Review of the show I wrote of Mark at the Movies on 9/24/2010: on the Reelzchannel Website:
If you have not seen Mark at the Movies you are totally missing out. With Host Mark S. Allen and Co host Ashley Williams these 2 bring a
different feel to each movie they review. From amazing interviews to the fun they make the show it is a must see. Ashley though in her younger years (20's) Has so much poise and wonderful interview skills the sky is the limit for her and she has not even come close to the limit. Within the next 3 years look for Ashley to be on top of the media world either in the entertainment industry or in the national news industry. She has so much potential I cannot express this enough. Mark a former radio DJ has grown so much into this form of entertainment I am totally amazed. Mark who once fell off a billboard while raising money is by far one of the most respected reviewers in the business. Though Mark has had plenty of offers to move into a national role it is his Commitment to his family of 3 and his wife that keeps him grounded. Mark is always involved in helping many different organizations in their efforts to raise money and Mark has always done a fantastic job doing that by going above and beyond his call of duty. I strongly suggest everyone watch Mark and the Movies because you will be hooked like I was my first time watching this 2 time Emmy Award winning show. http://www.reelz.com/topic/25311/great-show
Now that the 200th show has aired and though the original line up has changed the show continues to make great strides in the industry. Former contest winners Brittany Young & Brooke Lusk are largely popular and work hard at their craft as show contributors. Brittany even had a role in the 2013 release of Warm Bodies. Brooke also continues to work on her skills who at the time of this
writing is preparing to interview the cast of the worldwide release of Pixar's Planes. However the newest member of the crew Anna Wesselman brings a complete new look and feel to the show. Anna has an edge to her that brings out the best in Mark and is a perfect fit for this show. Her interview skills amaze me because she talks to the subject as though they are friends sitting around talking about movies. As I said earlier about Ashley who is now interviewing stars of stage, movies & small screens for Hip Hollywood, Anna will have a
bright future in the business and I see her as to having a ceiling that will take her to new limits within the entertainment News industry.
On this day that I visited the show I was taken to an undisclosed shooting location and escorted into the Green Room by Brittany. Then Anna entered to get mic'ed up followed by Brooke. Finally Mark entered the green room to greet all of us and escorted us to the studio. The show taped in real time had to wait while New York offices got the closed caption portion of the show ready. Once the show goes on air Mark then talks about all the positives that occurred during its course and keeping with tradition both the cast/crew and stars show their special love by showing & saying how much they hate the show. This week Wolverine had its worldwide release so Hugh Jackman kicked off this weeks movies after the Retro Reel Review of The Conjuring.
As the show continued the crew would prepare for the next shot and camera angles during the commercial break. This was one thing that surprised me. I really thought that commercials would be placed later during the final edit of the show. As the show ended Mark called the entire cast/crew including those in the booth on stage to thank them for their time and efforts during the 200 shows.
I would like to also send a special thank you to the cast/crew of the show for accepting me as a show contributor doing my best to promote each show and requesting fans to like Mark at the Movies Facebook page https://m.facebook.com/MarkattheMovies?_rdr
