Today in the News:
As I stated in my last blog local news shows give way for national news shows on the weekend with the exception of KCRA who covers local news & weather from 7-9 and also Good Day Sacramento has their weekend show which airs 7-11 both Saturday & Sunday so the weekend blogs will be strictly about Good Day Sacramento weekend show.
Saturday 5/11/2013:
Lori Wallace the unofficial queen of Elk Grove was sent to discover a haunted motel and to her dismay the results were so shocking her photographer wanted to leave. The spirit of Victor was alive & well when he clearly did not want his visitors there, by speaking "Get out of here" it was recorded on special ghost hunt equipment that was clearly understood by all who heard it then played back for the viewing audience. It was also a theme show. With the world wide release of The Great Gatsby both host Cody Stark & Cohost Amy Carabba dressed in roarin 20's outfits. Amy looked stunning and Cody was dapper. In addition feature reporter Cambi Brown also flashed back into the 1920's fashion, and going out to check out cars from that era as well as learning the Charleston. The theme of the day kept going in the studio too with furniture, drinks & even foods ate during that time. In addition to that a 1920's fashion show was featured in the popular segment "Carabba on the Catwalk" a feature Amy covers for great fashion for a cheap price. They also had a quartet perform on the Good Day Sacramento stage performing classical music throughout the show. They did take a break from the norm when Cody issued the Soft Kitty Challenge as seen on Big Bang Theory & challenge was accepted. In other news away from the theme show. Lori also brought us a Yoga on the Block event, and Extrabbaganza preview of all things Abba songs at the Crest Theater June 6-7. Alan previewed Bike Ride for Moms Event, Tea Party/Fashion Show in Modesto & Monster Truck Races in Turlock.
Produce guru Michael Marks teaches us the art of a perfect onion ring. Did u know the Texas 1015Y means to plant on 10/15 and yellow onion?
And Finally: Drazil kids tea is a new product that caffeine free less calories & low sugar. For the Record 3-3 kids love it.
On Sunday 5/12/2013 it was Mother's Day so the show was all about the moms. Starting the show off Lori made one families dreams come true with a Mom makeover then viewers submitted photos of their moms. The Mother's Day dreams come true followed throughout the show with both Lori & Alan surprising viewers moms. Also today the just curious topic was: What was the best party you've been to. Nina brought us some cool fashion art from the Dixon May Fair and also Steam Powered Art for Maker Faire 5/18-19 at the San Mateo county center. In the kitchen featured 9year old Mason cooking up some of his food creations including a Over easy egg mixed in toast. What a great idea & skill. The Deadlies performed on the Good Day Sacramento stage however did not take the Soft Kitty Challenge. A local High Schooler , Fong Thao who recently took part in ROTC competitions showed off his skills. To close out the show Sudz by Studz soaps previewed their product for Cody & Amy. The one thing I left out purposely was Devin Bruce. I left it to the end because it is so cool I wanted it to close this blog. Devin is a unique photographer who photos action type shots called hadouken. I have attached a photo of his work on the show in addition to his Facebook, twitter and web page. You can book Devin for weddings, parties & for fun photo shoots.
Until tomorrow May the world turn in the right direction & all of us stay out of harms way.
