Today in the News: Special report:
KINGS STAY! Local media goes crazy. CBS13 talked to Kings Play by play announcer & local radio host Grant Napear about the NBA BOG voting 22-8 to not allow Kings to move to Seattle live on his show & during their break into scheduled programming. In addition KCRA Fox40 & News10 also broke into coverage right at the same time President Obama was getting ready to address the nation with his IRS mess. Sorry Mr. President Kings stay your news can wait. Back to the overload of coverage Fox40 & CBS13 kind of blew the KJ presser by cutting him off. I understand they had to cut to commercial but it could have waited after he was done speaking. However CBS didn’t screw up as bad as I felt Fox did by playing music to cut to commercial over KJ’s voice before they went to commercial and then back to scheduled programming. Oops whomever did that in booth. I cannot speak about the other 2 stations 3 & 10 because I did not watch their coverage until 5 PM on channel 3. All in all despite the mistakes I pointed out & no way am I bashing all 4 networks leading up to the vote, and coverage after was outstanding and all media outlets deserve a standing ovation. I also want to send a special thank you to News10 Brian May, Fox40 Jim Crandell Stefanie Cruz Kristina Warner, KCRA David Beanick, Chris Riva, CBS13 Steve Large Rob McAlester, KHTK Radio Grant Napear, Jason Ross, Dave Duce Mason, Crown Downtown, & last but not least Carmichael Dave for all their hard work. But most of all a very very special thank you to all the Sacramento Kings fans, Mayor Kevin Johnson & the ownership group put together on short notice, without you this team would be playing in Anaheim, Virginia Beach, Vegas or Seattle.
