#NeverForget15years and More Today in the News 9/11/2016
Today's Recap:
Cambi was at IKEA with Hans Greenawalt who showed her how to get ready and all into Fall with organization and fall trends. Cambi was at the 7th Annual 9/11 Memorial  Stair Climb. Keeping the Vow to Never Forget the Firefighters of 9/11 who lost their lives in 2001, today Sacramento Area Firefighters will honor all 343 during Sacramento’s 7th annual 9/11 Memorial Climb. Cambi was in Downtown Sacramento whereas many of Sacramento are remembering all of the victims of September 11th, 2001. The Run To Remember 5K Run/Walk will take place to give those who vowed to “Never Forget” the opportunity to exercise that vow. Cambi was at Fairytale Town for the Re-dedication of Jack and the Beanstalk. Franco Joseph Bilotta was born on November 13, 1991, and on April 5, 1994, passed away after never regaining consciousness after falling in his grandparent’s pool.



Ericka was with Tri Counties Blue Star Moms who hosted a 9/11 Remembrance, 15 Year Anniversary at Yuba City High School, Honker Stadium. Ericka was with Dann Spear Creator touring Museum of Forgotten Warriors Museum in Marysville, CA


Cody and Melissa got a preview of Modesto Fashion Week, a multi-day, multi-event celebration of clothes, beauty and the art therein, is set for Wednesday through Sunday, Sept. 14-18. Melissa's Run Don't Walk Deal of the Day was from Lifehacker Blog tips on saving money. Melissa got a preview of the 2nd Annual The San Joaquin Tamale Festival that brings together the spirit of live music and great plated foods with locally inspired cuisine and wines from California.  Melissa and Cody got a preview of the Allstate's Reality Rides XTheTXT taking place Tuesday at the State Capitol. Melissa had today's Hot Headlines.



Cody was joined by Kory from Mix 96 aka Kory on the Radio about his new project with Disney. Tina was Dishin With Tina at Tony Baloney’s. Cody was with Maker HQ checking out their Sumo Robots. Cody and Melissa checked in with Linden Gun Range to talk with Christine Zador as she is preparing to go the American Marksman National Shooting competition in Talladega, Alabama. Cody was with Loyal Roots who showed their NEW designs for both adults and kids. Cody and Melissa talked with Former White House Staffer Ashley Snee Giovannettone. Cody introduced Neil Young Tribute Band Tribe of the Red Horse to the Good Day Stage. You can see them perform in the Bay Area and in Sacramento including October 1st at Harlow's. Cody and Melissa checked in with Robin at Stockton Arena for the kick off of Stockton’s Beer week! What better way to put a little hop in your step than with a brewfest event. Cody talked with Cecily Hastings about her book Inside Sacramento. Cody took his turn in the Driving Simulator.

Cambi: 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb
Today on Good Day Cambi was at the 7th Annual 9/11 Memorial  Stair Climb. Keeping the Vow to Never Forget the Firefighters of 9/11 who lost their lives in 2001, today Sacramento Area Firefighters will honor all 343 during Sacramento’s 7th annual 9/11 Memorial Climb. At the conclusion of the climb, the final bell will be rung as each name is placed on the 9/11 Memorial. This is an event that honors all men who lost their lives. Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District (Metro Fire) provides professional and compassionate protection, education and service to all-risk emergency hazards and incidents.

Cambi: Run to Remember
Today on Good Day Cambi was in Downtown Sacramento whereas many of Sacramento are remembering all of the victims of September 11th, 2001. The Run To Remember 5K Run/Walk will take place to give those who vowed to “Never Forget” the opportunity to exercise that vow. Today as runners cross the finish line they will get American flags that represent an American who lost their life on 9/11/2001. Each American Flag will be placed next to a nameplate engraved with the name of an American who did not return home. When the Run To Remember is completed, nearly 3000 flags will stand united in the Memorial as a tribute to those that were lost.

Ericka: Museum of Forgotten Warriors
Today on Good Day Ericka was with Dann Spear Creator touring Museum of Forgotten Warriors Museum in Marysville, CA At the age of ten, Dann Spear, founder of the Museum of the Forgotten Warriors, started collecting military memorabilia, patches and photos from his friends to whom he wrote while they served in the Vietnam War. 1981, after displaying portions of his collection throughout Northern California, Dann and his good friend, John Showers, began work on what was to be the first museum building. The official opening was in January 1985, with Brigadier General Don Matson in attendance as the guest speaker. The over 46,000 artifacts in it have continued to grow.

Cambi: Jack in the Beanstalk
Today on Good Day Cambi was at Fairytale Town for the Re-dedication of Jack and the Beanstalk. Franco Joseph Bilotta was born on November 13, 1991, and on April 5, 1994, passed away after never regaining consciousness after falling in his grandparent’s pool. When he passed Franco’s parents did something they never thought they’d do, contacted the Sierra Donor Services and donated both of his corneas and his heart valves. Franco’s uncle and godfather approached his parents with keeping his memory and started an account as a way to memorialize Franco. Fairy Tale Town was suggested and in May of 1997, the Jack and the Beanstalk structure was completed in Franco’s honor. And now, almost 20 years later, Fairy Tale Town was able to renovate the structure and today hosted a re-dedication with Franco’s mom LeAna doing the ribbon cutting.

Melissa: Distracted Driving Simulator
Today on Good Day Melissa was getting a preview of the Allstate's Reality Rides XTheTXT. Did you know traffic safety experts say distracted driving claims more than 3,000 lives and causes more than 400,000 injuries every year? To combat these tragedies, Allstate is taking its Reality Rides® distracted-driving simulator on a 20-city national tour this year, to teach drivers about the dangers of not paying attention behind the wheel. On Tuesday the simulator will make a stop at the California State Capitol, for Sacramento drivers to give it a try.
