Opening Statement:
To kick things off today some sadness to report that is sure to be the lead story today. Last Night a bus crashed along with a Fed Ex truck near Chico, CA. The bus was carrying High School students on their way to Humboldt College After impact the bus caught fire killing at least 9 on the bus. This is beyond sadness. Words can not describe what those parents, family members and friends must be going through during this difficult time. May all these we lost live in <3 forever.

Today Paul is on vacation and Bethany, Sabrina, and Eric talked about the World's Biggest Baby Shower taking place this Saturday in Citrus Heights, Race Hamsters with Petco, Talked Relationship Forum taking place tonight and Cheese Cake Factory was in the kitchen but the one story that caught my eye was of an Elk Grove boy who won a college Scholarship. (More on this in Final Thoughts)

Good Day Sacramento:

A 2 for 1 Show and tell today. Part 1 was from Courtney talking about Organ donation Month (More on this later) The other part of Show and Tell was from Mark showing old footage of him taking out a Quartet on the streets of Sacramento dressed as Kiss who cancelled on him via no show.The 5am Club member was announced with John Martinez being named today. The Question of the Day was What do you do to pass the time while in line or waiting. Mark said he catches up on what took place on the show by reading Today in the News. WOW! Marianne is off today as well as Cody. Ken is back after having Jury Duty yesterday but will be gone again Monday.

6am:
Melissa was in San Francisco today hanging out with a photographer who uses video to create amazing photos. Mandi Stillwell uses an and makes her photos come to life. Mark had entertainment report where he shared It's a Small World Song turning 50. Julissa talked to an Elk Grove Dance group that is heading to Fresno to attempt to break a dance record.

7am:
In this hour Melissa boarded a boat from 1936 and headed into the Bay to take shots of the Golden Gate Bridge with Mandi. Julissa checked back in with the Elk Grove Dance Group where they gave a mini performance. Mark talked to Jennifer Garner and Kevin Costner about Draft Day and LOVED IT!!!

8am:
In this hour Mollie from Hot Flash Wines talked with Mark and Ken about their wines for woman. In addition Hot Flash is one of the many wines being featured Saturday at the Lodi Wine Stroll. Courtney was out back with The Melt Food truck making Grilled Cheese sandwiches. Rio 2 is coming out in theaters today so Taste of Brazil with foods, dance and more plus Mark chatted with Anne Hathaway about the film. Melissa continued from SF with Mandi. Folsom HS Physics and Engineering Challenge showed us a Catapult. Teens Tunes - 80's was played and the #9amtopic was introduced talking about the tweets sent by Colin Kaepernick about his investigation underway so is Twitter the BEST way to be heard.

9am:
The hosts for this hour was Mark, Tina, Laura, and Julissa talking Brazilian Dance as well as today's #9amtopic. Mark was talking Rio 2 with Jamie Foxx and George Lopez plus some Brazilian Dancers showed their dancing skills. Melissa finished with Mandi in the Bay from McCovey Cove. Ken's Manly Minute that was to be frrom yesterday was today as to why you should play guitar. Jason's Uncle Mike showed how he makes his Strawberry jam and will be in studio Saturday making it for the weekend crew. Eric from Folsom HS was back showing of the cool Hover Craft that his students built. Courtney was at the Capital with a father / son shaving their head to raise Ovarian Cancer Awareness. Tina's Final Question of the Day was What Instrument do you play and then it was time to dance into the weekend with the Bee Gees.

Final Thoughts:
Before getting to the shows today today was a Good Day, Sacramento all around for both shows covered and My58 will return Monday. Today we are talking Fox40 and Good Day Sacramento along with what's ahead for the weekend.

On Fox40 today they talked to and about an Elk Grove student who is only 9 years old who won a scholarship for college. Not just a little one but a $100,000.00. WOW! The one thing that stuck out to me was Duncan saying he wants to go to UCLA. That's crazy. When I was 9 I wasn't thinking about college I was thinking how do I get out of going to school the next day. Dream big little man that is awesome.

Good Day Sacramento saw the return of Ken who has jury duty and that is why he was gone yesterday and will be gone again Monday with no court on Friday. Marianne and Cody were gone today however but we know Cody returns tomorrow. Back to Ken as predicted his Manly Minute from yesterday would take place today as to why you should play guitar.

A lot took place today on the show that included Folsom High School showing off their engineering skills by making a Hover Craft and other cool items. Julissa talked with an Elk Grove Dance team heading to Fresno this weekend to attempt at breaking a dance record. Courtney was in the Capital as a father and son raised awareness for ovarian cancer. Plus she was hanging with The Melt food truck making grilled cheese sandwiches.

Mark had some really good entertainment reports talking about movies this weekend including Draft Day and Rio 2. You can catch much more on these 2 movies and more this weekend on Mark at the Movies on CW & Reelzchannel Saturday and Sunday. But with the release if Rio 2 it made for a Carnival type setting in the studio today with authentic Brazilian food, dress, and dance.

Melissa was in the City by the Bay with a local San Francisco Photographer who takes video photos and makes them look life like in the photos. Amazing work by Mandi Stillwell.

One thing I want to talk about is what Courtney talked about today on Show&tell. Organ donation. For years I was against it but when I had my major surgery in 2009 I had to face that question and my first response was no but after careful research and talking to professionals in the field I became a donor. If I have something that will keep your loved one around for years I am happy to help. I'm not asking you to commit to it but give it some thought it may save a life, it may even save a life of a child which is why it's so important to remember to just like Furniture USA on Facebook because every dollar, donor and your help our loved ones won't be Gone too Soon.
We have danced into the weekend and now we turn the controls over to Cody and Amy and company for the weekend. Lots to look forward to including the return of Uncle Mike Maloney making Jam, Tina in Davis, Ask Eleanor her Hollywood gossip and Dishin With Tina to name a few things.
