In this hour Courtney shared video of her and Tina rocking out in the car. Marianne's Daily list was back today with where and where not to pet the kitty. Ken was in Maryland talking all things Preakness and California Chrome with Trainer Art Sherman and Exercise rider Willie Delgado and Jockey Victor Espinoza. The 5am Club Member was introduced. Mark had News of the Weird. The Question of the Day today was What is your favorite theme party? Today's Show us yours topic was horses.

6am:
In this hour Ken checked in with more California Chrome. Melissa learned Drum Therapy with Mind Body Soul Healing. Julissa was learning how to build custom guitars from a Lodi man. Marianne's Daily Joe brought back the burrito eating hamster this time eating a pizza.

7am:
In this hour Ken continued from California Chrome as he (CC) hammed it up for the camera. Melissa tried the Drum Therapy. Julissa learned more from Mike Kalend about his custom guitars. Perhaps one of the funniest things shown today came at the end of the hour. A Wild turkey had kids talking but in true Good Day Fashion audio put it in beeps to make the kids describing it even more funnier than the actual story.

8am:
The 8am hour Blew up with content/ Actor Jon Hamm joined via Satellite to talk crying in Frozen and Million Dollar Arm which is opening this weekend in theaters. Ken continued from Preakness. Comedian Bobby Lee who is playing at Punchline stopped by and all Hell Broke loose when he took his shirt off. Melissa was in Elk Grove checking out a new nutrition bar called Core Nutrition. Lori was the Pinball Wizard playing and talking Pinball in Pin a go go in Dixon.Tracy became a certified Train Town. Today's #9amtopic was introduced. A local Sacramento woman is willing to leave her family and move to Mars (No Really she said that) So today's topic is What is the most extreme adventure you would take?

9am:
Ken continued from the Preakness seeing all there is to see the day before the Big race. Melissa taste tested Nutrition shakes at Core. These shakes include Cake Batter, Cheesecake and more. Lori continued to play Pinball at Pin a Go Go.Mark talked to Todd and Nina from Now 100.5 for #NowGlow. Julissa, Laura, and Mark took us through today's #9amtopic. Sean was in Midtown checking out the party on the patio at Church Key. No this is NOT a church so don't let the name fool you. However you can play a GIANT Jenga game. Tina's final question was Who would you like to dance with

Final Thoughts:
I feel like today's shows had a common theme and that is Horses. With Ken from Good Day Sacramento giving constant updates from the Preakness to Fox40 talking about Project RIDE in Elk Grove helping kids face their fear of horses while building up their all around self confidence for young children.

The other story I liked however not horse related was the Strawberry Festival taking place this weekend in Galt. Local High School Students built a catapult for strawberry tossing.

Today Melissa was in Orangevale while Julissa was in Lodi both making music. Melissa revisited the local man who builds custom drums and then performs drum therapy at Mind Body Soul Healing. Julissa was in Lodi with a local man who builds custom guitars and provides a different kind of therapy that makes people happy through music. Both men do amazing work.

Comedian Bobby Lee who will be appearing at Punchline this weekend came in to chat about that and more. It was when Bobby took off his shirt when all hell broke loose. No one in the studio could stop laughing while some viewers almost changed the channel they said.

Sean got to have fun today when he went to see the Biggest Patio Party at Church Key. Church Key is NOT church however if you check in around 1230am you might see some people praying in a totally different way. Nonetheless this a going to be a very popular spot especially with the GIANT Jenga game.

Lori was in Dixon checking out Pin a Go Go and how it benefits local charities and only costs $12 or $40 per person and NO Quarters needed. This is a very cool event taking place all weekend long in Dixon.

After Melissa was done getting drum therapy she headed to Elk Grove for a new Juice Bar that serves Nutrition drinks for under 300 calories. The shakes Melissa tried were Cake Batter, 2 types of Cheesecake and the Hulk. Core has 30 different shake flavors to choose from

Pancake Challenge? For weeks it was send your entries to Good Day by May 14 with the challenge taking place today? So what happened? Why no challenge? My guess and only a guess Courtney didn't get enough entries or because Ken went to Maryland for the Preakness the challenge was cancelled. If I find out why no challenge I will update but I don't think I will ever find out way.

Speaking of Ken, As you know Ken traveled to Maryland to cover the Preakness and more importantly California Chrome (CC) had a bit of a cough but trainer Art Sherman said he was not worried about it. The rain was also coming down hard and could pose a threat at (CC) winning the race however his crew is not worried about that and the track should be fine. Ken will continue with live reports tomorrow during Good Day with Cody and Amy.

We have now danced into the weekend with help from Pharrell Williams and Daft Punk so that we can all "Get Lucky" to have Cody and Amy take over the controls for the weekend. I can share with you Nancy Bradley is scheduled to appear as well as live reports from Ken at the Preakness ALL Morning long so tune in at 7am-11am for all this and more.
