Keeping the Vow to Never Forget the Firefighters of 9/11 who lost their lives in 2001, today Sacramento Area Firefighters will honor all 343 during Sacramento’s 8th annual 9/11 Memorial Climb. At the conclusion of the climb, the final bell will be rung as each name is placed on the 9/11 Memorial. This is an event that honors all men who lost their lives. Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District (Metro Fire) provides professional and compassionate protection, education and service to all-risk emergency hazards and incidents.
