This is a fundraiser for the Auxiliary whom contributes to the community in many ways such as raising funds for high school scholarships, Tina was checking out Zuma poke & Lush Ice. BevMO representative Paco Saldana gave Tina a little bourbon 101, as well as a recipe for the quintessential Mint Julep perfect for anyone wanting to celebrate the Kentucky Derby in style. Tina was with Ben from Empire's Comics Vault who is having a HUGE event with over 20,000 FREE Comic Books as well as other cool events taking place all day long.

Melissa had her Run Don't Walk Deal of the Day. Melissa was with Sacramento Food Bank getting a preview of Stamp Out Hunger. During the week of May 9 Mail Carriers will be leaving bags in mailboxes for people to collect non-perishable food and then on May 14 Carriers will pick the bags back up. Melissa had today's Hot Headlines. Melissa was checking out Zeal Baby Boutique which was started by sisters Lauren and Hailee Bouthillier earlier this year after Hailee’s son, Elijah, was born.

Mint Julep
Ingredients:
2 ounces Bulleit Bourbon Frontier Whiskey
1-2 teaspoons sugar (to taste)
1 sprig fresh mint
1.5 cups crushed ice
Mint garnish
Directions:
In a shaker or measuring pitcher, combine the bourbon, sugar, and mint. Muddle the mint for a few seconds, or minutes if you’d like a strong mint flavor. While waiting, scoop the crushed ice into the cup so that it piles up, then shape it into a mound with your hand. Strain the bourbon mixture over the ice, garnish with a mint sprig, and serve.
